Pricing, timing & what to expect

Every head of hair is different, but these guidelines will help you understand how we quote and what your appointments will feel like.

How much does a new set of locs cost?

Pricing depends on your hair length, density, and the method we use (crochet, interlock, extensions, or a combination). New sets typically run several hours and are quoted individually after we see your hair in good lighting, either in person or via clear photos and video.

How long will my appointment take?

Initial installs can range from a few hours to a full day depending on your starting point and goals. Maintenance visits are usually 2–4 hours. We will always give you an estimated time frame before you book so you can plan comfortably.

How often do I need maintenance?

Most clients maintain every 6–10 weeks. Some prefer more frequent tidy-ups, others stretch appointments longer. We will help you find a rhythm that keeps your roots healthy without over-working your scalp.

What should I do before my first visit?

Arrive with clean, dry hair, free of heavy oils, butters, and silicone-based products. If you're not sure what is in your products, bring them along or send photos of the labels and we will advise you.

What will the first week after installation feel like?

It is normal to feel some tightness, new weight, or mild scalp sensitivity in the first few days. You should never feel sharp pain or ongoing headaches. If you do, contact us so we can adjust tension and make sure your scalp stays happy.

Extensions, colour & changing your look

Locs are flexible. You can add length, change colour, or experiment with synthetic pieces without committing your natural hair forever.

Can I start my loc journey with extensions?

Yes. Human hair extensions can be used to add length from day one or to blend into an existing set. We carefully match colour, texture, and size so your extensions age and move like the rest of your locs.

What is the difference between human hair and synthetic locs?

Human hair locs are permanent additions that can be coloured and styled like your own hair. Synthetic locs are lighter, more affordable, and intended to be temporary. They are great for festivals or short-term looks and are removed after a season.

Can I colour or bleach my locs?

Colour is possible, but it must be approached thoughtfully. We prioritise the health of your hair over extreme colour changes. Lightening and vivid colours are usually best achieved on extensions so your natural hair does not carry the full impact of bleach.

Can I switch from synthetic to natural locs later?

Yes. Many clients start with synthetic installs to try out locs visually and then move into natural or human-hair extensions when they are ready for a longer-term commitment. We can plan this with you so the transition feels smooth.

Can extensions help repair or reshape an existing set?

Extensions can be used to even out lengths, fill in thinner areas, or change the overall shape of your set. We will always assess your existing locs first to ensure they are strong enough to support the extra weight.
